Training Overview

"Every Youth Deserves a Trained Leader"

The Boy Scouts of America has assembled a complete training curriculum to meet the needs of today's leaders. The training sequence for a new leader includes

  3. New Leader Essentials
  4. Venturing Leader Specific Training
  5. Sea Scout Adult Leader Basic Training

Our youth deserve nothing but the best for their leaders, and leaders owe it to the youth to be able to deliver a quality program. After completing this sequence there are a number of on-going training programs that educate leaders on advanced leadership techniques and more.

Youth Training

Venturing youth have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of crew operation and leadership in the Venturing Leadership Skills Course, and to learn Youth Protection in addition to a number of other opportunities. Sea Scouting youth also have additional leadership training opportunities, Sea Scout Advanced Leadership (SEAL), and Top Gun. Through these trainings and others, youth are equipped with a "tool box" of leadership tools to help them better "...help strengthen America, to help others, and to seek truth, fairness, and adventure in our world."
