The Boy Scouts of America’s Philmont Training Center and Scout Ranch offer Venturers and adults an excellent training opportunity and the experience of a lifetime. Located in the majestic mountains of northeast New Mexico, Philmont offers a variety of Venturing development courses at the training center and in Philmont’s challenging backcountry. The Philmont Training Center provides a comfortable, well-equipped training atmosphere. It also offers an outstanding family vacation experience. Programs and activities are offered for adults and children of all ages. Family activities include hiking, tours, handicrafts, campfires, horseback riding, games, western cookouts, and more!

Participants and their families will enjoy Philmont’s tent city with electricity, showers, and clean restrooms. Meals are provided in a family setting in the Villa Dining Hall.
For safety and convenience, Philmont provides a medical facility, chapels, a library, a laundry, trading posts, a handicraft center, a snack bar, and more. Nearby attractions include historic Cimarron, Red River, and Taos.

The Venturing Division offers exciting Philmont opportunities for 2011. Attendance is by invitation only, upon recommendation of the local council or national Venturing committee. Please call or visit your local council for details.
