On-Line Resource Management Tool Goes Live
Service Addresses Comprehensive Management of the Preserve America's Waterways Initiative

The national youth service initiative (PRESERVE AMERICA'S WATERWAYS) designed to promote more than 1 million community service hours protecting and preserving America's Waterways enters a new phase. The on-line resource tool to manage service projects is now live at http://www.pawaterways.org organizations wishing to participate by providing a project for the Preserve America's Waterways Initiative may register on the site and enter a project. The site offers on-line instructions and guidelines for service project entry. Projects from all sectors including public lands and marinas across the nation are welcome.

The national youth partner for this initiative is Sea Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Beginning on January 1, 2009 youth groups and scout units across the nation will log into the site and adopt projects that have been put forth. This on-line tool will help to manage all aspects of the initiative and is one of the most comprehensive resource sites of its kind. For more information about the Preserve America's Waterways please contact the NYMA at info@goblue4kids.org.

National Youth Marine Alliance (NYMA) is the leading association representing a broad group of organizations that have a mission of connecting kids to activities, in, on & under the water. NYMA member organizations have a direct impact on more than 15 million young people in the United States. The NYMA through its members, is dedicated to providing all children with access to water based educational and recreational opportunities and to insure that children are gaining a better appreciation and a pathway to safely and responsibly participate in the outdoor lifestyle encouraging good stewardship of our environment now and in the future.

There are lots of 2009 service  projects already posted on the site ready to be adopted.  Some of these projects can be turned into Eagle or Quartermaster projects. All the projects may be adopted as your Ships Service projects.  Our goal is to register one million hours of service to americas  waterways as our gift for the 100th Anniversary of BSA.

Now is the time for your Ship to go to the site  and adopt a project. We ask that you return to the site when your project is finished and record your hours. We would also like to hear your stories and see
your photos from you project. If there is not a project posted in your area you my post one and adopt it.

New projects will continue to be added to the site.
